Our own Indian boy in Wisconsin state wrestling - Praveen Bhat
There have been many Indians in Wisconsin that have been successful playing sports, such as tennis, basketball, football and many more. But there lies one Indian boy who tried out many sports and figured out they weren’t good for him or he wasn’t good at it. Four years ago the same Indian boy tried out different – wrestling, YES wrestling. There again he had found that he wasn’t good at it and he can’t achieve in this field. But, his Coach had full faith in this boy and he knew that one day this boy is going to make it to state. He was right!!! Four years later that happened, and the same boy “Praveen Bhat” went from no good at any sport to qualifying for the Individual wrestling state tournament at 103 weight class. Only 12 kids from the whole state of Wisconsin can make it to this tournament and Praveen was one of them. After all the hard work he did during the season and in the off season, it all paid off at the end for him, when he achieved his goal.

Some of Praveen’s accomplishment other than qualifying for individual state was that he was part of a team that went to team state for the first time in school history. School sends individuals every year but no team has ever gone to state. Praveen was one of three team captains that Pewaukee had at state.
